The family of a food truck driver killed in a rollover crash in Orange County is mourning his loss and reaching out to the community for support.
“Last night (10/07/2025), our hearts were shattered when Richard, a 67-year-old hardworking father and grandfather, was tragically killed in a car accident while driving his well known food truck called ‘Ayala’s Food Service’ after a long day of work,” a post to assist the family of Ricardo “Richard” Ayala on GoFundMe stated.
Ayala’s truck was struck as he was making a left turn in front of oncoming traffic while on Warner Avenue in Santa Ana late Tuesday night. Police said that the impact of the crash caused the vehicle to overturn and ejected Ayala, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the other vehicle involved in the crash was taken by ambulance to a local hospital with minor injuries.
“Richard touched countless lives with his kindness and humility, and his sudden passing has left a void that words cannot fill,” the GoFundMe post reads, adding that he “spent his entire life working tirelessly to provide for his family.”

The post in memory of Ayala was created to raise money for the family during this time of loss.
“His family is now facing the unexpected costs of funeral arrangements and the many financial burdens that follow,” the Post reads.
The crowdfunding page is hoping to raise $23,000 to support the family. “️ Rest in peace, Ricardo “Richard”. You will never be forgotten.”
