Eaton breaks ground on $18.5M expansion in Orchard Park, adds 100 jobs

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Eaton broke ground on an $18.5 million expansion project to the Krog Industrial Center in Orchard Park, Gov. Kathy Hochul announced Wednesday.

The creation of the 50,000-square-foot facility will add 100 jobs to the current workforce of 450, Hochul said. Eaton currently creates oxygen, actuation and other technologies for commercial aircrafts and defense and space customers.

Construction is expected to be completed by July 2026 and will be followed by more machinery and equipment.

“The expansion in Orchard Park will allow us to keep up with the military’s growing demand on key defense programs,” Eaton’s General Manager Mike Nero said in a news release. “By significantly increasing our production capacity, we can now provide actuation technology currently used exclusively by the U.S. Air Force to the U.S. Navy as well. Our investment in Orchard Park will ensure the site can serve defense, space and commercial aerospace customers well into the future.”

New York State is giving Eaton up to $2 million to help with the expansion. The Erie County Industrial Development Agency approved $434,348 in future property tax savings over 10 years and $875,000 in sales tax savings on project-related purchases for the expansion.
