Fill ‘er up: Minnesota has 11,842 lakes, but Dodge County contains none of them — currently, at least. As it looks to secure $1.5 million in funding from the state, “the county is exploring the conversion of a limestone quarry into a park expansion that would include a large lake,” FOX 9 reports.

A Minnesota boomtown: If you’ve been to Rochester lately, you’ll know that there is no shortage of construction. And if you haven’t, our third-largest city’s growth might surprise you. And that growth isn’t slowing down. As reported in the Minnesota Star Tribune, Destination Medical Center Executive Director Patrick Seeb said “the amount of construction Rochester will go through over the next 10 years is what most cities experience in 100 years.”

Turning Point event to be held: According to MPR News, “The American Comeback Tour — the college event originally hosted by Charlie Kirk — will still be held Monday at the University of Minnesota’s Northrop Auditorium.” Kirk, a conservative activist and founder of Turning Point USA, “was assassinated on Sept. 10 by a gunman during the tour’s kickoff event at the Utah Valley University.”

18 acts in one night: If you missed Farm Aid 40, the Pioneer Press has a breakdown of the nearly 12-hour concert that took place on Saturday at Huntington Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, with headlining sets from music legends Bob Dylan, Neil Young and Willie Nelson.
