A doctor who worked at a busy suburban hospital has been charged with sexual assault and explotation of a 16-year-old, Kane County State’s Attorney Jamie Mosser announced Tuesday in a press release.
Trevor J. Roston, 33, of Chicago, unlawfully restrainined a 16-year-old with an intellectual disability on Nov. 29, the State’s Sttorney alleges. The office alleges Roston followed the teen into a single-use poolside bathroom of an Elgin hotel where they were both staying, locked the door and then sexually assaulted the victim.
According to officials Roston was staying at the hotel on his personal time.
At the time of the assault, Roston, a medical doctor, was employed at Advocate Sherman Hospital in Elgin as a hospitalist. He was also certified in pediatrics, the release said, but did not practice pediatric medicine during his time at the hospital.

Roston’s employment at Advocate Health has since been terminated, the State’s Attorney’s office said. Investigators do not believe the victim was a previous patient of Roston, or that Roston knew the victim prior to the assault.
According to the release, Roston has been charged with aggravated criminal sexual assault, criminal sexual assault, unlawful restrain, aggravated criminal abuse and sexual exploitation of a child. He made his first court appearance Monday, where he was ordered to remain detained.
Roston’s next court appearance is sheduled for 9 a.m. Dec. 29 at the Kane County Judicial Center.
