Denver Summit FC signed defender Ayo Oke on Tuesday as the club continues to build out its roster ahead of its inaugural season.
Oke is an up-and-coming star who just started her professional career last year with CF Pachuca Femenil in Mexico’s Liga MX Femenil. Oke joins Summit FC via transfer.
The 22-year-old fullback, who is also a U.S. youth international, made 31 appearances in her first pro season and helped Pachuca win the 2025 Liga MX Feminil Clausura title, which marked the first league championship for the club.
“Ayo is a modern defender with exceptional athleticism, technical quality, and a high soccer IQ,” Summit FC general manager Curt Johnson said in a statement. “Her experience competing internationally and winning a league title at a young age speaks volumes about her mentality. She fits exactly what we are building here, and we are thrilled to welcome her to Denver.”
The Lawrenceville, Ga., native signed a three-year deal through the 2028 season. She is the latest addition to a Summit FC defense that is rapidly taking shape ahead of the club’s season-opener on the road in mid-March followed by Denver’s first home match on Saturday, March 28, at Empower Field at Mile High.
Oke is the fifth defender that Summit FC has signed, joining Carson Pickett, Camryn Biegalski, Kaleigh Kurtz and Megan Reid. Summit FC also signed goalkeeper Abby Smith last month. Oke played four seasons in college split between Cal and UCLA, and has represented the U.S. team at the U-15, U-16, U-17, U-18, U-20, and U-23 levels. That included helping the Americans win the 2022 CONCACAF U-20 Championship.
In other Summit FC news on Tuesday, the club announced it selected Mortenson as the club’s stadium construction partner to build the team’s 14,500-seat stadium at Santa Fe Yards that is expected to be completed in the spring of 2028. This announcement comes after the team received approval from Denver City Council on Dec. 22 to move forward with a subsidy for the stadium.
