The Chicago Cubs will be in the playoffs for the first time since 2020, and fans are being offered a chance to enter the team’s postseason ticket lottery.
The Cubs, who secured at least a wild card spot with their win over the Pittsburgh Pirates on Wednesday afternoon, are in all likelihood going to be competing in a best-of-three wild card series beginning later this month, and the games will likely be played at Wrigley Field.
As things stand, the Cubs are five games ahead of the San Diego Padres for the top wild card spot in the National League, a spot that would come with home-field advantage in that wild card series.
Fans interested in buying tickets to the three games at Wrigley Field, which would be played September 30-October 2, can sign up for the Cubs’ postseason ticket lottery on their website.
According to the Cubs, fans age 18 and older are eligible to sign up for the lottery, which enters fans for a chance to purchase tickets to any game in the playoffs.
If selected in the lottery, fans will be notified via email on when they can purchase tickets and any limits on single-game ticket purchases.
Fans who are not selected for the chance to buy tickets to wild card round games will still be entered into the lottery for subsequent rounds of the postseason, according to the Cubs.
Registration for the wild card round ticket lottery will close at noon on Tuesday according to the Cubs, with registration remaining open for the remainder of the postseason.
More information can be found on the team’s website.
