DENVER (KDVR) — The two people killed in a small aircraft crash near Centennial Airport earlier this month have been identified by the Douglas County Coroner’s Office.
The agency said that Perry “Matt” Feeney, 52, of Arvada, and Lee “Rob” Hill, 64, of Greenwood Village, were killed in the early Friday morning crash.
The aircraft, a Beech BE35, crashed and burst into flames under unknown circumstances, according to the National Transportation Safety Board, which is investigating.
The plane hit the ground on the back side of a large warehouse on South Peoria Street, and the fire threatened a large generator and a nearby building.
FOX31 interviewed Desmond Brown, who works across the street from where the crash occurred and ran to the scene.
“We already knew when we saw it burning, there is no way anyone survived that plane crash,” Brown said. “There was nothing we could do with the gate, but we wanted to do so much to help.”
The NTSB asked any witnesses of the crash or anyone with surveillance video to contact the agency at witness@ntsb.gov.
