Concord man found shot dead on Napa County road

(KRON) — The body of a Concord man who was shot multiple times was found Sunday morning on the side of a rural Napa County road, according to the Napa County Sheriff’s Office.

At around 9:40 a.m., a caller reported to the California Highway Patrol that they found an unresponsive man with blood on his clothes lying near the 2600 block of Monticello Road, also designated as Highway 121. Deputies with the sheriff’s office arrived at the scene minutes later and found the man deceased, authorities said.

The man was identified by the Office of the Sheriff-Coroner on Monday as Salvador De Jesus Castillo-Hernandez, 20, of Concord.

“Mr. Castillo-Hernandez was shot multiple times,” the sheriff’s office said. “Detectives are conducting a homicide investigation.”

The roadway was shut down for nearly six hours on Sunday between the 2200 block and Wooden Valley Road as investigators worked the scene.
