Friends and family of popular fisherman and YouTuber, Mikey Rijavec, came together Saturday to honor his memory after his body was found off the coast of Baja California, Mexico, in November this year.
The paddle out took place in Fiesta Island in Mission Bay, where those who attended laid a wreath in the ocean to honor the life of Rijavec.
Glenn Udvarhely who was a close fishing friend to Rijavec described him as, “the happiest guy in the water, it’s not an act, it’s not YouTube he’s not putting on a show for the channel. It doesn’t matter if you meet him at his house, out on the water, at the restaurant he’s the exact same guy- he’s thrilled to meet you, he’s thrilled for the experience and what you’re about to do together, there’s just no people like him.”
Rijavec, known for his fishing content that he shared on social media under the name ‘SD Fish and Sips’, went missing on Nov. 11 while on a fishing trip eight miles off the coast of Baja California. His body was found a few days later on Nov 16., according to his family.
