With a potential deal in the works to reopen the government, there is growing hope that air travel may soon return to normal too after weeks of shutdown-driven flight delays and cancelations. Over the weekend, the shutdown caused chaos at airports nationwide with more than 4,000 flights canceled and 15,000 delayed after the federal government ordered a 4% reduction in flights to combat staffing shortages.
