LAKE MARY, Fla. (WFLA) — Chief Financial Officer Blaise Ingoglia held a press conference on Wednesday in Lake Mary.
During the conference, which focused on firefighters, CFO Ingoglia honored local heroes and thanked them for their efforts in protecting the community.
In his speech, Ingoglia emphasized the higher risk firefighters today have of being diagnosed with cancer, and touched on how the government can monetarily support them.
Ingoglia presented 16 fire departments from across the state of Florida with checks totalling $1.4 million for purchasing necessary equipment to keep their responders safe and allow them to continue to do their jobs.
