ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — The Capital District Transportation Authority (CDTA) unveiled their pink bus designs for this year’s “Men Wear Pink” campaign. The initiative, presented alongside the American Cancer Society, marks its 10th anniversary in 2025.
Featuring a 40-foot CDTA bus and the “Real Kids Wear Pink” STAR bus, residents will soon see the newly adorned vehicles throughout the streets of the Capital Region during October. The annual campaign aims to cultivate support for Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
“We’re proud to once again paint our buses pink for October to show our support for those
impacted by breast cancer,” CDTA CEO Frank Annciaro stated. “Public transit reaches every
corner of our community, and we’re using that visibility to raise awareness about breast cancer
and the work the American Cancer Society does. Thank you to the CDTA workforce who helps
transform these buses and gets behind this important campaign.”
Materials for the bus transformations, conducted by CDTA paint shop technicians, were donated by Lamar Advertising, NAPA Automotive Finishes, and Seifert Transit Graphics. CDTA’s 2025 campaign has already reached $12,500, after hitting almost $25,000 last year. The initiative has raised nearly $150,000 for the American Cancer Society in the last decade.
