Car drives into Niagara River from Scenic Parkway

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A car drove into the Niagara River from the Niagara Scenic Parkway on Monday morning, according to New York State Police.

Police said that a truck reportedly drove off the Niagara Scenic Parkway and into the Niagara River near the Bird Overlook around 9:15 a.m. Approximately an hour and a half later, a vehicle was found submerged

New York State Park Police, New York State Police, Niagara Falls Police and the Niagara Falls Fire Department all responded to the scene. A helicopter was also seen searching the scene, along with police on boats.

The crash is currently being investigated.
