Slidin’ Dirty taking over ex-River Street Market space in Troy

A popular slider restaurant is making its way back to Troy. Slidin’ Dirty is opening in the former River Street Market space at 433 River Street.

Jumpin’ Jack’s in Scotia closes for the 2025 season

Jumpin’ Jack’s Drive-In has closed for the 2025 season. Your last chance to get a burger and ice cream from the Scotia staple until next year was on Sunday, August 31.

Historic Troy diner receives $50K grant from national organization

Manory’s in Troy has received a $50,000 grant from the National Trust for Historic Preservation and American Express. Best known for being one of the oldest restaurants in the city, the diner was one of 50 businesses across the country to receive the funding.

With new owners, Slick’s in Schenectady reopens

Slick’s, a staple in Schenectady for 50 years, reopened with new owners after being closed for more than a year. Slick’s 1804 Tavern, according to its Instagram page, reopened on September 9 at 11 a.m.

Thai restaurant opens new location in Menands

Bangkok Kitchen has opened a second location in Menands called Bangkok Cuisine. The restaurant, located at 704 North Pearl Street, had its ribbon cutting and grand opening on Wednesday.

A new Japanese-Italian fusion restaurant has opened in Albany. Itameshi officially opened on August 22.

Schenectady ramen spot closes after 6 years

Tanpopo Ramen and Sake Bar, located at 1625 Union Street in Schenectady, has closed its doors. The restaurant made the announcement in a Facebook post on Monday.

Restaurant group caps beer prices at $5 in Schenectady, Saratoga Springs

A beer may look a little cheaper at some eateries and venues in Schenectady and Saratoga Springs, according to a local restaurant group. Starting Wednesday, all draft and bottled beer prices at Electric City Hospitality Group locations will be capped at $5.

New coffee shop coming to Glenville this fall

Jack Kowalski, the owner of Bud’s on Jay in Schenectady and Bud’s on the Hudson in Green Island, is expanding to Glenville. The new shop will be at 208 Sacandaga Road in the Glen Esk Apartments, right near Scotia-Glenville High School.

Specialty coffee roaster opening shop in Moreau

Stinky’s Coffee Co. is opening its first brick-and-mortar location in the former Autoworld/Suzuki dealership at 1377 Route 9 in Moreau. Owner Ryan McNaughton told NEWS10 it was always the goal to open a brick-and-mortar space.

Bar shuts doors after over 20 years in Lake George

A bar and grill with 27 years in the business on Glen Lake Road in Lake George will shut its doors for the final time on Sunday, September 21. Full Moon Pub and Grill announced the closure in a social media post on Monday.

Bakery opening second location in Saratoga Springs

Bear’s Cup Bakehouse, located in Bolton Landing, is set to open its second location in downtown Saratoga Springs. The bakery will be located at 543 Broadway in the former Jacobsen Rugs space.

New eatery opens its doors in Stillwater

There’s now a new eatery, catering and meal prep spot in Stillwater. Big Tony’s Kitchen on the River had its soft opening on September 16 in the old Stillwater Wood building at 726 Hudson Avenue.

Participating lineup for 2025 Schenectady Wing Walk

Schenectady’s Wing Walk is coming back to downtown this October. From 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on October 4, visitors will be able to sample each participating restaurant’s wing flavor and vote on their favorites.

Guilderland brewery moving to Clifton Park golf club

A Guilderland brewing company announced on Thursday that the business is relocating to a new space at a Clifton Park golf club. Mixed Breed Brewing Company owner Guy Bucey said the change in location doesn’t change the brewery’s mission of bringing people together over beer.

New coffee shop opens in downtown Schenectady

Downtown Schenectady has a new coffee shop. 518 Coffee Bar, located at 604 Union Street, had its grand opening on Saturday.
