A live edition of the “Smartless” comedy podcast scheduled for Saturday at the Hollywood Bowl was cancelled due to a storm that will bring rain to Los Angeles through the weekend.
Hosts Jason Bateman, Sean Hayes and Will Arnett were scheduled to take the stage Saturday night at the outdoor performance venue. In a post on Instagram, Hayes described the cancellation as “bummer news,” but a safe move.
“It just wouldn’t be safe for you guys, for us, for the crew, for everyone involved,” Hayes said in an Instagram post. “It was probably the smartest decision we could make.
“We were really excited to show it to you. It was a missed opportunity for everyone. Kind of like Father’s Day for me every year.”
Hayes said the team is planning more live shows in the future.
The system that moved into Los Angeles County overnight was expected to intensify late Friday into Saturday. Thunderstorms, flooding, hail and mudslides are possible.
Refunds will be issue to the original method of payment, according to a post on the Hollywood Bowl’s web site.
