ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (WIVB) — The Bills have placed rookie cornerback Dorian Strong on injured reserve and signed linebacker Jimmy Ciarlo to the 53-man roster, the team announced Saturday.
Buffalo also elevated defensive tackles Zion Logue and Phidarian Mathis from the practice squad for Sunday night’s home game against the New England Patriots.
Strong missed practice this week with a neck injury after playing in each of the first four games. He is eligible to return to the Bills after four games on IR. A sixth-round draft pick from Virginia Tech, he started Buffalo’s opening game when Tre’Davious White was injured.
Buffalo’s first-round draft pick Maxwell Hairston remains on IR after hurting his knee during the preseason. Hairston is eligible to return from IR, but the Bills have not yet opened the window for him to resume practicing with the team.
Ciarlo, an undrafted rookie from Army signed with the Bills during training camp after Baylon Spector was waived with an injury designation. Ciarlo’s strong play in the preseason earned him a spotlight role in HBO’s Hard Knocks series, and a spot on Buffalo’s practice squad.
