While the Taste of Chicago took over Grant Park this weekend, former Philadelphia Eagles star Jason Kelce took his own food tour of Chicago during the first few gamedays of the NFL season — and touted one of the spots live on television from Soldier Field.
During the Bears vs. Vikings Monday Night Football broadcast, for Monday Night Football, the retired NFL offensive lineman could be spotted wearing a shirt repping Roseland staple Old Fashion Donuts.
Kelce later took to social media to rep social media-famous old-school spot.
Mr. B made the best Apple Fritter I’ve ever had, and I don’t even like Apple Fritters. Old Fashioned Donuts in Chicago is an absolute gem. He opened the place in 1972, hasn’t had an off day since. Turns 87 on Oct, 5th. The workers, the food, it was all just a fantastic… https://t.co/5LdNBnDkEB

“Mr. B made the best Apple Fritter I’ve ever had, and I don’t even like Apple Fritters,” Kelce said on X Monday. “Old Fashioned Donuts in Chicago is an absolute gem. He opened the place in 1972, hasn’t had an off day since. Turns 87 on Oct, 5th. The workers, the food, it was all just a fantastic.”
The day before, Kelce made a surprise visit to Jake Melnick’s Corner Tap in the Gold Coast neighborhood, enjoying some chicken wings as he watched football in action. He washed down the meal with Garage Beer; both Jason Kelce and Travis Kelce own the brand.
Kelce also stopped by Nisei Lounge in Wrigleyville, according to a social media post.
