Apartment manager arrested for stealing tenants' identities, sheriff's office says

(KRON) — A woman was arrested for stealing tenants’ identities while she was working as a property manager in the Bay Area, according to the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office.

“The suspect — a former apartment manager — used her job to access tenants’ personal information, then created fake IDs, personal email addresses, and phone numbers to open credit cards in their names,” the sheriff’s office said.

Detectives served a search warrant at a home and allegedly found and seized more than 2 ounces of methamphetamine, ledgers with victims’ personal information and evidence of drug dealing.

The woman admitted to using and selling the victims’ stolen identities, the sheriff’s office said. She was booked into the Santa Clara County Jail on multiple felony charges for identity theft and drug crimes.
