U.S. DFL Sen. Amy Klobuchar paid a stop to an Olmsted County farm Wednesday. KTTC says she was there “to discuss the changing landscape of agriculture in Minnesota as a part of her 13-county rural economic tour.” During her visit, Klobuchar discussed the impacts tariffs and high input costs are having on farms.
As they face a large budget deficit, Robbinsdale Area Schools is considering some major changes. Bring Me The News writes “staring down a $21 million budget deficit, Robbinsdale Area Schools is facing a series of cuts that could include school closures.” The district says the deficit is partly due to a “major accounting error that counted compensatory funding twice.”
A Mall of America waterpark could soon make a big splash, but how would public dollars be used for the project? KSTP explains “more than a third of the funding is covered by what’s being called public financing through tax increment financing, which comes from property taxes generated” by the mall.
