ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — Westgate Plaza, located at 911 Central Avenue in Albany, is now under new ownership. Faraz Khan, who owns the Clifton Park Center Mall and Wilton Mall, told NEWS10 he bought the plaza from Russell Road Associates for $6.3 million.
Khan said the sale was finalized on Friday, October 3. On Monday, they started cleaning the plaza and working on some facade repairs and painting.
Westgate Plaza first opened in 1957, said Khan, and the area has changed a lot since then. He said he wants to steward the plaza into its next phase of life.
The plaza currently has 19 tenants and is 75% occupied. Khan is looking to bring in some national tenants to fill up the space and bring in more variety of stores.
As for the Clifton Park Center Mall, Khan said it’s at 98.5% occupancy and they’re slated for 100% occupancy at the beginning of 2026. Khan bought the mall in early 2023.
Khan bought the Wilton Mall earlier in 2025. They’re currently working on renovations and getting more tenants. Khan said he’s currently working on deals with 17 businesses to bring them into the mall. Saratoga Dessert Bar and C3 Hip Hop Dance Co. recently opened in the mall, and a sports collectables store is opening soon.
