Albany FD wins 9th annual CDTA pink bus pull

ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — The Albany Fire Department was the winner of the 9th annual CDTA Pink Bus Pull. The competition supports the American Cancer Society’s Men Wear Pink campaign and raises money to help fight breast cancer.

The Schenectady PBA came in second place, and a team from CDTA came in third.

Different organizations from around the Capital Region created teams of eight people to race the clock and pull a 30,000-pound pink bus 30 feet. Teams from Broadview Federal Credit Union, Albany International Airport, University at Albany, United Way of the Greater Capital Region, and more also participated.

The Albany Fire Department also won the competition in 2024. They got to take home the pink bus trophy.

Materials and decals to transform the pink bus were donated by Lamar Advertising, NAPA Auto Parts, and Seifert Transit Graphics. CDTA paint shop technicians transform the bus every year.

So far this year, CDTA has raised close to $15,000 for the campaign.
