ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — The Albany County Pine Hills Land Authority released an update on its “Reimagine Saint Rose” project. The organization said the community has been strongly engaging with the project, with more than 300 people attending a workshop and over 400 filling out an online survey on what they believe should happen to the former college campus.
ACPHLA said Phase I of the project, Site Analysis and Data Collection, is almost complete. This has included background and utility assessments, building evaluations, and demographic and market studies of the area.
Phase II, Community Engagement, will continue this fall with a workshop on September 25 and a presence at the Upper Madison Street Fair on September 28. Phases III and IV include concept development, feasibility studies, and implementation planning, which are already underway.
All of the phases are expected to be completed by November. The final redevelopment master plan is expected to be completed and release sometime in November.
“I am proud to see the Reimagine Saint Rose initiative moving forward in such a thoughtful and inclusive way,” said Albany County Executive Daniel P. McCoy. “In little more than a year since my administration worked with New York State to bring this vision to life, the Albany County Pine Hills Land Authority has led serious progress. We are now at the doorstep of transformational change for Albany County. Together with the Pine Hills community, we are creating a sustainable community cornerstone with opportunities that will benefit residents for generations to come.”
