2 officers, another person, hurt in overnight crash in North Philly, police say

Two police police officers and a third person were hurt in a crash that happened overnight in North Philadelphia, officials said.

According to police, the incident happened at about 4:15 a.m. on Tuesday near the intersection of North 20th Street and Cecil B. Moore Avenue in North Philadelphia.

Officials said that both officers and one other person — who officials did not immediately provide further identifying information on — have been hospitalized following the incident.

But, they did not immediately say how the incident occurred.

At the scene, NBC10’s cameras caught images of a red Jeep SUV that was seemingly involved in the crash being towed from the area as a Philadelphia Police Department cruiser with front end damage could be seen resting on the roadside.

A white SUV, also showing significant signs of front end damage, could be seen pushed up onto the sidewalk in that area, as well.

In a morning update, officials said the injuries suffered by the officers and the other individual involved all appeared to be minor.

Though, they did not immediately provide the victims’ conditions at the hospital.

An investigation into this crash, officials said, is ongoing.
