Police Blotter: ‘Asian Boyz’ gang member convicted

A member of the so-called “Asian Boyz” gang from Lowell was convicted in federal court on charges related to the distribution of counterfeit pills meant to look like Adderall, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

Isiah Lyons, 30, was found guilty of conspiracy to distribute and to possess with intent to distribute 500 grams and more of methamphetamine after a week-long jury trial in U.S. District Court.

Law enforcement have been investigating the gang since 2021, according to a statement from the U.S. Attorney.

During the trial, the jury heard evidence that Lyons had worked deals to sell bulk quantities of pills. He and his co-conspirators sold four 1000-unit packs of pills, which he called “g-packs,” between Dec. 2022 and Feb. 2023, the statement said. The drugs weighed about 1.3 kilograms.

But, the US Attorney noted, Lyons sold one of the “g-packs” to an undercover officer, leading to his arrest.

He is expected to be sentenced in April.
