A Los Angeles woman was arrested in Burbank after she tried to sell high-value sports trading cards worth about $10,000, police told NBC4 Investigates Tuesday.
The Burbank Police Department said card shop employees at a business on Hollywood Way near Magnolia Boulevard alerted officers that the woman may be trying to sell possibly stolen cards.
Investigators soon learned some of the cards were reported missing as they had been shipped through the U.S. Postal Service. Police later confirmed with the original owner that the cards were indeed stolen.
Police also found narcotics at Alexander’s home during a search.
The suspect, identified as 37-year-old Jasmine Alexander, was arrested and booked for possession of stolen property and a controlled substance.
It was not immediately clear who Alexander, whose occupation was a certified surgical technologist, had access to USPS mail and was able to allegedly identify and steal the shipment.
