Wintry weather will make a return to the Chicago area over the weekend after a short stint of spring-like temperatures Friday, according to the National Weather Service.
Rain and snow is expected in the Chicago area before noon Saturday, according to NWS. Snow accumulations may be observed near and north of I-80 through the morning, primarily on grassy and colder surfaces.
After noon, there is a chance of rain and snow showers until 1 p.m., and then a chance of just snow showers after 1 p.m., according to NWS. New snow accumulation is likely to be less than half an inch.
Temperatures Saturday will peak around 36 degrees, and winds could gust as high as 30 miles per hour, NWS said.
Bears fans will want to layer up for the 7 p.m. game against the Packers at Soldier Field as scattered snow showers will move through the area Saturday night, with a low around 22 degrees.
Sunday is expected to be mostly cloudy in the morning, but the sun should begin to break through as the day goes on. Highest temperatures will be around 32 degrees, NWS predicted.
