The Shops at Liberty Place in Center City Philadelphia up for sale

The Shops at Liberty Place, a massive ground-level retail component beneath One and Two Liberty Place in Center City Philadelphia, is for sale.

The popular spot for both shoppers and office workers, located on the 1600 block of Chestnut Street, is described in a JLL listing as “one of Philadelphia’s premier shopping corridors” and offers more than 450 linear feet of street-facing exposure with prominent entrances at the city’s highest-traffic corners.

The listing also pitches that additional entry points from One and Two Liberty Place, as well as the Market Street courtyard, have driven 5.1 million annual visitors in recent years.

The Shops at Liberty Place sees over 14,000 vehicles drive past every day and over 19,200 pedestrians walk by the property daily, the listing highlights.

According to NBC10’s news-gathering partner, the Philadelphia Business Journal, the property, owned by Metropolis Investment Holdings Inc., is nearly 80 percent occupied, and, on average, current tenants have about five years remaining on their leases.

At this time, there is no asking price listed.

The Shops at Liberty Place was built in 1990 and has featured popular chain stores such as Bloomingdale’s The Outlet Store, Victoria’s Secret, Bath and Body Works, and most recently Puttshack.

The announcement of the sale comes a month after Jones Lang LaSalle Americas, Inc., shared that Franklin Mall in Northeast Philadelphia is seeking a new owner.
