An investigation is underway after a man and his three dogs were found dead inside a home in East Germantown on Friday evening, according to the Philadelphia Police Department.
Officers were called to a house on the 1900 block of Medary Street just after 6:30 p.m. for a report of an unresponsive male, Philadelphia Police Captain Christopher Bradshaw said.
When the officers got into the house, they found three dogs who had been shot as well as a man laying on the floor with a dog bite to his ankle, Captain Bradshaw explained.
Bradshaw told NBC10 that the man’s wife had come home from work to find him unconscious.
Investigators say that they do not know who shot the dogs or how the man died, but they do believe the circumstances around this case are suspicious.
Police also said that there was a fourth dog who was found inside a bathroom in the home. ACCT Philly has taken the dog into their custody.
