Avalanche injures two ski patrollers at Mammoth Mountain

Two members of a ski patrol team were injured Friday in an avalanche at Mammoth Mountain.

In a post on Instagram, the ski area in the Sierra Nevada mountain range said Mammoth Mountain Ski Patrol was conducting avalanche mitigation work at about 7:30 a.m. when a slide occurred on Lincoln Mountain at the. Two patrollers caught in the avalanche were hospitalized.

One was in serious condition.

The ski area will be closed Friday.
