Caught on Cam: Woman drives through wall of MontCo beer store, police say

A 48-year-old woman, from Perkiomenville, has charges pending, police said, after she allegedly drove through the wall of a Montgomery County beer store in an incident that was caught on surveillance camera on Sunday.

Surveillance video shows the moment the collision occurred.

According to police, the incident happened at about 5 p.m. on Sunday, when a 48-year-old woman, behind the wheel of a 2025 Toyota Tacoma, drove through the side of Pennsburg Beer and Soda, located along the 400 block of Pottstown Ave. in Pennsburg.

An employee at the shop told NBC10 they noticed the vehicle before the crash driving along the parking lot with two flat tires.

The vehicle, the employee said, drove past the beer store, but then the worker heard the crash.

A manager at the shop said the damage to the store tops $45,000.

Officials said that, following the crash, officers at the scene suspected the driver was impaired and she allegedly admitted to police that she had been consuming alcohol before getting behind the wheel.

However, police said, she refused to participate in field sobriety testing.

The woman, officials said, was taken to a nearby hospital for a blood alcohol test and was released into the custody of a family member.

Charges against the woman, officials said, are pending the results of that blood testing.
