Driver delivering Amazon items kills man during road rage incident, officials say

A driver who was delivering Amazon items struck and killed a man during a road rage incident in Allentown, Pennsylvania, officials said.

The incident occurred on Nov. 21, 2025, on the 2400 block of South 4th Street in Allentown, according to investigators. Troy Johnson, 30, was traveling in the area and delivering products for Amazon when he got into an argument with a 29-year-old man, according to officials.

Johnson allegedly intentionally struck the other man with his vehicle and then fled the scene. The 29-year-old man later died from his injuries.

On Dec. 10, a warrant was issued for Johnson and the case was delegated to the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force.

On Wednesday, Dec. 17, around 7:30 a.m., the Fugitive Task force from Allentown and Philadelphia as well as Allentown Police detectives responded to a home where Johnson’s relatives lived on the 5400 block of Norfolk Street in Southwest Philadelphia. Johnson was found at the home, arrested without incident and transported to Lehigh County.

“While nothing can undo the harm that was done to the Hernandez family, I hope this arrest brings a measure of closure to the family,” said Robert Clark, Supervisory Deputy U.S. Marshal for the Eastern Pennsylvania Violent Crime Fugitive Task Force.

Online court records for Johnson are not yet available.

NBC10 reached out to Amazon. A spokesperson said Johnson was not an Amazon employee but rather worked for a delivery service partner that delivered to Amazon customers.

“This was a terrible tragedy and our thoughts are with the victim’s family and loved ones,” the spokesperson wrote. “The driver was suspended by his company immediately after the incident and is no longer eligible to deliver on behalf of Amazon.”
