
ICE “shuttle” flights are operating out of Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport, the Minnesota Star Tribune reports. “Many of these flights don’t appear on public air traffic-tracking apps, and most of the charter airlines offering this type of service are little-known. Passenger figures are not reported to airport authorities. The trips could mostly escape public attention if not for people like Nick Benson, an activist and professional airplane tracker with a 6-foot antenna attached to his roof in Burnsville.”
Arson and insurance fraud. Those are the charges Bryce James Campbell is facing “after prosecutors say he started the fire that burned Lutsen Lodge to the ground in February of 2024 to escape mounting financial woes,” KARE 11 reports. “Lutsen Resort claimed to be Minnesota’s oldest resort, dating back to 1885. It was a popular destination for hikers, skiers and people who love to soak in the majesty of the North Shore.”
“The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources is seeking public input on reducing the statewide walleye possession limit from six fish to four, the first change to the rule since 1956,” according to Valley News Live. “DNR officials say the proposal is a proactive response to changing conditions in Minnesota’s lakes,” including technology advances, climate change, social media and growing ice fishing popularity.
Minnesota is adding jobs, but unemployment is growing, MPR News reports. “Now unemployed Minnesotans are finding it’s taking longer to find work compared to last year, and job fair attendance has been spiking.”
