A SUV slammed into a beauty salon Thursday afternoon in La Palma, narrowly missing two people sitting by the front window.
Security camera video from inside Magic Beauty on Valley View Street in the Orange County community captured the crash. The SUV smashed through the front of the building, sending an employee scrambling for cover.
The SUV plowed into chairs and a desk inside the store, just missing the employee and a customer seated next to the door with her hair in curlers and a plastic cap.
“She just heard the noise, then she’s just moving,” said Jason Lee, husband of the employee.
Lee said he was stunned when his wife of 38 years sent him the frightening security camera video.
“I’m just still shocked,” Lee said. “I mean, just, you know, shaking.
“The only thing I got, you know, my wife back, you know. Something. That’s the only thing, I’m happy.”
The customer behind the wheel is a woman in her 70s who had a hair coloring appointment, Lee said. She was trying to park when something went wrong, he said.
“She was just trying to stop or something, then smashing the wrong accelerator or something,” Lee said.
No one was injured in the mishap.
