Valley Forge Military Academy shuts down operations for everyone except seniors

The Valley Forge Military Academy will be shutting down operations for everyone except for members of the senior class one week from today, the school announced.

According to a letter sent to families by the academy’s chairman, Gray Beck, the school will only be open to members of the senior class after Nov. 21.

Cadets in the undergraduate levels are being told to pack their belongings in order to move off of campus by next Friday.

Chairman Beck explained that the decision comes after enrollment has dropped and staffing has been hard to maintain.

“By focusing our resources on the senior class, we can preserve academic continuity for those preparing to graduate while maintaining the high standards that define the Valley Forge experience,” Beck wrote.

The academy plans to work with members of the underclass cadets to help them find their next steps once the school shuts down.

The school is scheduled to shut down at the end of the academic year in May, 2026.
