Arctic blast to bring frigid temps to NYC — along with a chance of snowflakes

It hasn’t felt like November. That changes on Tuesday.

Temperatures start to tumble overnight after a fairly mild, damp day on Monday. New York City could be looking at its first freeze as well.

Freeze warnings have been issued for the five boroughs, Long Island and coastal Connecticut overnight into Tuesday. Be sure to bring any outdoor plans inside. Check the latest weather alerts for your neighborhood here.

With winds kicking up, wind chills will be in the teens and 20s Tuesday morning. Highs will be in the upper 30s to lower 40s, though it’ll feel much colder, with those intense gusts.

Those gusts, likely up to 40 mph, could even bring a few snowflakes to the New York City area. We’re not talking measurable accumulation, however.

Once the system passes, the tri-state area dries out and temperatures bounce back a bit through the end of the workweek.
