AUSTIN (KXAN) — The city of Austin will honor veterans Tuesday with the 70th annual Veterans Day Parade hosted by the Military Veterans Empowerment Network.
Austin’s parade will begin at 9 a.m. Congress Avenue between Cesar Chavez and 11th streets before ending at 11 a.m. With that, several roads will be closed downtown early Tuesday between 6:30 a.m. and 1 p.m.

Streets along Congress Avenue from Cesar Chavez to 11th Street will be closed between Colorado Street and Brazos Street.
Additionally, 11th Street will be closed from Lavaca Street to San Jacinto Boulevard from 6:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
If you still need to navigate the downtown area, you can use Lamar Boulevard, South First Street, Colorado Street, Brazos Street, and Red River Street to travel north and south.
East-west streets are also available via Martin Luther King. Jr. Boulevard, 15th Street, and Riverside Drive.
The parade is free and open to the public with a Veterans Day Ceremony at 11:11 a.m. on the South Steps of the Texas State Capitol. More information on the event is available here.
