Police searching for man missing from Avon since mid-October

DENVER (KDVR) — The Avon Police Department is searching for a man who was reported missing on Oct. 31, but appears to have been missing for days beforehand.

The department said that it needed the community’s help to locate Pablo Araya Rojas, who was reported missing a week prior.

The agency said that officers were actively investigating and working with his family to try and ensure his safe return. On Thursday, the Avon Police Department shared some updates on the investigation.

The agency said that on Oct. 20, Rojas was physically seen by a friend at about 4 p.m. in West Avon, and that his phone was last active in the West Edwards area on Oct. 21.

The police department said it is checking local and surrounding county hospitals for him, and that his information was entered into the national Federal Bureau of Investigation database on missing persons to alert law enforcement if he is contacted by law enforcement in the U.S.

The police department said that it also checked Rojas’s apartment and spoke with his roommate, determining that the man had not been seen for about two weeks.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with Pablo, his family and friends and we pray for his safe return,” the Avon Police Department said. “Your awareness and willingness to share this message can make a difference. Thank you for helping us bring Pablo home safely.”

Anyone who may have seen Rojas or know where he may be, or who has any information that could help, is asked to contact the Vail Public Safety Communications Center at 970-479-2201 and request to speak with an Avon police officer. Information can also be shared through Crime Stoppers at p3tips.com or by sending a tip on the P3 Tips mobile app.
