
A lawsuit is claiming a northern Minnesota city kept residents in the dark over a data center proposal. MPR News reports “The Minnesota Center for Environmental Advocacy and a grassroots group of area residents called ‘Stop the Hermantown Data Center’ filed the lawsuit Wednesday in St. Louis County District Court. … They’re challenging the city of Hermantown’s environmental review of a proposed massive development called ‘Project Loon,’ and they accuse city officials of a lack of transparency.”
This week might have been sunny in the Twin Cities, but there are already chances for snow this weekend in parts of Minnesota. Bring Me The News is tracking where snow could fall, noting there’s possibility for accumulation in the southern part of the state.
One Rochester company has received funding for an agriculture career growth program as part of a new round of statewide grants. KTTC says “Workforce Development Inc. will receive $500,000 from the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development.” The company will use the funding for a “Growing Opportunity” program in southeast Minnesota. “Participants will enroll in programs at Minnesota State colleges, selecting from a variety of specific agricultural programs that best suit their needs.”
There’s been a new birth of an endangered species at the Lake Superior Zoo. WDIO reports “The cotton-top tamarin … has fewer than 6,000 individuals still left in the wild. The Lake Superior Zoo in Duluth has been working to help restore the population, with the latest cotton-top tamarin baby born on Sept. 30th.”
