One of the Pacific Palisades’ popular restaurants, Gladstones, is set to be torn down and replaced with a new up-scale restaurant, run by celebrity chef Wolfgang Puck.
Gladstones reopened on July 4, following a six-month closure due to damages caused by the Palisades fires.
In a unanimous vote, the California Coastal Commission approved a plan that has been in the works since 2018 for architect Frank Gehry, and Puck to replace and run a new ocean-view dining space.
A rendering the California Coastal Commission released illustrates the design as a polished glass and wooden structure, by Gehrey, who is known for designing the Walt Disney Concert Hall.
