Aurora school resource officer facing child sexual exploitation charges: FBI

DENVER (KDVR) — Authorities are looking for victims after an Aurora school resource officer and supervisor is facing charges of several counts of sexual exploitation of a child.

The FBI Denver Division and the Denver Police Department are working to identify victims of Aaron Jacob “Jake” Bunch, who is facing charges of sexual exploitation of a child (sell/publish); sexual exploitation of a child (possession); and sexual exploitation of a child (video)—extraordinary risk.

The FBI said that Bunch worked as a school resource officer and supervisor in multiple Aurora schools, and believes he may have sought out minors while in a position of trust between 2005 to October 2025.

The FBI is looking for victims and is asking if you or someone you know was victimized by Bunch, or if you have relevant information on the case, to fill out an FBI form. The FBI is asking people to try and encourage anyone who may have been victimized to fill out the form themselves.

The FBI said people who submit the form may be contacted, and while the bureau is legally mandated to identify victims of federal crimes, all identities of victims will be kept confidential. Victims could be eligible for certain services, restitution and rights.
