Tractor-trailer loaded with cattle rolls over, slowing traffic near Routes 7, 9 in Latham

LATHAM, N.Y. (NEWS10)– A tractor-trailer loaded with cattle rolled over Wednesday morning on the off-ramp on Route 7 toward Route 9 in Colonie. According to 511NY, the accident was closed the left lane of the ramp and has slowed traffic along Route 7.

According to New York State Police, around 4:20 a.m. troopers responded to a rollover on the ramp. Upon arrival, troopers learned the trailer was loaded with cattle.

Traffic cameras in the area show the rollover on Route 7 just before the exit. Around 6:30 a.m., the cameras showed multiple livestock being removed from the truck.

Troopers said the driver was uninjured, and the cattle are being transferred to another trailer as of 7:20 a.m.

An assessment of the animals has yet to be determined, troopers said.

Emergency crews as well as state Department of Transportation crews are on scene. Drivers can expect slow traffic in the area and are asked to use caution and move over for those working the scene.
