(KRON) — A community event in Solano County is providing resources for people with disabilities to achieve their career goals. In honor of National Disability Employment Awareness Month, this event will do just that.
The fair will take place on Friday, Oct. 24 at the Filipino Community Center in Vallejo, located at 611 Amador St. It will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and admission is free. Some of the resources provided at the event:
- Health screening
- Resume reviews
- Mock interviews
- Job searching tips
- Wellness demonstrations
- Free flu shots
- Mental wellness support
The event is hosted by the Filipino Community of Solano County, Inc. and the California Department of Rehabilitation. More information can be viewed on Facebook.

The event recognizes the 80th anniversary of National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM). According to the U.S. Department of Labor, NDEAM is “an annual recognition of the positive impact of people with disabilities in the American workforce.” It was first observed in 1945.
“This fair represents our commitment to ensuring that all community members, regardless of ability, have access to meaningful employment opportunities and quality healthcare resources,” a Filipino Community of Solano County spokesperson said.
