SANBORN, N.Y (WIVB) — With Halloween just around the corner, the Niagara Pumpkin Farm is offering both spooky fun and family-friendly activities for visitors of all ages.
As night falls, the farm transforms into a haunted attraction featuring a hayride through dark trails filled with eerie scenes, costumed actors, and plenty of surprises. Owners Kyle and Alisha King say the idea started from their shared love of Halloween — and has grown into one of the area’s most popular seasonal events.
“We’ve always both had a love for Halloween,” said Kyle King. “I’ve worked in haunted attractions, and she’s always loved the pumpkin farming aspect. We brought it together, and it turned into something big.”
For families looking for a lighter experience, the farm offers Frightfully Fun Daytime Trails, a non-scary version of the attraction where guests can explore the sets without any of the effects or actors.
“During the day, it’s called Frightfully Fun Daytime Trails,” said Alisha King. “You can experience everything with no animations or effects — just walk around, take pictures, and enjoy it. It’s really great for kids who don’t want to come out at night.”
The daytime trails are $7 per person and allow visitors to enjoy the farm’s decorations, photo ops, and fall scenery.
In addition to the haunted hayride and daytime trails, the Niagara Pumpkin Farm features pumpkin picking, bonfires, and activities like pumpkin bowling and pumpkin launching. The Kings say the event is also about giving back — with proceeds supporting Sweet Buffalo Rocks, a local nonprofit that helps children and families in need.
“We have four kids of our own, so we’re always grateful to help other children as well,” said Alisha King.
This year’s haunted experience is bigger than ever, with an extended trail that takes about 20 to 25 minutes to complete and more actors to bring the scares to life.
The Niagara Pumpkin Farm Haunted Hayride and Trail runs Friday through Sunday nights through the end of October, at 5368 Townline Road in Sanborn. Tickets for the nighttime experience are $27 and include both the hayride and haunted trail.
