A SWAT standoff ended with one person taken into custody early Friday after Miami Police responded to a barricaded person the night before.
Police said it was about 8:30 p.m. Thursday when they became involved in a standoff with someone who may have been armed at Camillus House on Northwest 3rd Court and 4th Street in downtown Miami.
SWAT officers worked to negotiate an end to that tense situation, and authorities asked people to avoid the area for safety as they set up a perimeter.
Police confirmed two hours into the standoff that an officer did open fire, but said no one was hurt.
It was around 2:30 a.m. that authorities took a subject into custody without injury. Police haven’t released the person’s identity and say what charges they may face.
The investigation continues Friday morning. Officers could be seen taking scans of the inner courtyard at Camillus House.
