Michelin adds 8 new restaurants to DC dining guide

Get ready to snag a reservation: Eight more restaurants have earned a spot in D.C.’s Michelin Guide.

The makers of the elite dining guide announced their new recommendations on Wednesday. Here’s the full list:

  • Elmina, chef Eric Adjepong’s West African and Ghanaian restaurant at U and 14th streets NW.
  • Fish Shop, which serves seafood on The Wharf.
  • Karravaan, which serves an array of Asian cuisine near Union Market.
  • La’Shukran, a Middle Eastern restaurant by Michael Rafidi, who won the 2024 James Beard Award for outstanding chef.
  • PhoXotic, a first-come, first-served spot for pho in Bloomingdale.
  • Providencia, a small bar off H Street NE by chefs Erik Bruner-Yang and Paola Velez.
  • Raw Omakase, a Japanese sushi restaurant in Logan Circle.
  • Your Only Friend, a gastropub near Mount Vernon Square.

Michelin hasn’t said whether the restaurants will be listed in the Bib Gourmand – a guide to more affordable eats – or given a coveted star. It’s expected to reveal more details at the Michelin Guide Ceremony on Nov. 18.

Earlier this year, Adjepong told News4’s Eun Yang that Elmina’s most popular dish is his special jollof rice, which features duck served three ways. Adjepong boldly claimed his dish is so good that it ends the debate over who makes the best jollof rice (although not everyone agrees)!
