ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. – A 57-year-old man from Florissant is being charged for allegedly making a terrorist threat to a hospital.
According to a probable cause statement, Kieran Murphy called Christian Northeast around 4 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 8, saying that there was a bomb in the hospital’s emergency room. During that call, Murphy told the hospital he “would remotely detonate” the bomb, which caused many to evacuate the emergency room.
Officers from the North County Precinct responded to the incident, and a vapor wake dog was used to locate the suspected bomb. However, the vapor wake dog found nothing. Police began tracing the number tied to the caller who made the alleged threats.

According to the probable cause statement, Murphy was a patient at the hospital, but he was released “against medical advice” on Tuesday, Oct. 7. Prosecuting attorneys say Murphy was “upset” when he left the hospital.
Murphy faces the following charge:
- Terrorist threat – first-degree
He remains in custody under a $250,000 cash-only, no 10% bond.
