Housekeeper arrested in connection to home invasion of former clients' house

(KRON) — In Sonoma County, a woman has been arrested in connection to the home invasion of people she formerly worked as a housekeeper for. The Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office Violent Crime Unit said it is still actively investigating a home invasion robbery that occurred on Sept. 12 in Sonoma.

During the course of the investigation, police say they identified 52-year-old Norma Matamoros of Hidden Valley Lakes as a suspect. Matamoros, police said, was a former housecleaner for the victims.

She is also the stepmother of Hugo Matamoros, a suspect who was previously arrested in connection to the incident and remains in custody.

Deputies in Sonoma contacted the older Matamoros on Oct. 1 and detained her. She was brought in for questioning regarding her role in the home invasion robbery.

She was booked into Sonoma County Jail for the following felonies:

  • Elder abuse
  • Vehicle theft
  • Robbery
  • Assault with a deadly weapon
  • Conspiracy
  • Kidnapping

She remains in custody and is being held on $1 million bail.
