Famous award-winning chef opening pizza restaurant in Loveland

DENVER (KDVR) — Awarded celebrity chef Tony Gemignani is opening his first pizzeria in Colorado this weekend in Loveland.

Slice House is set to open at 1385 Sculptor Dr. on Saturday. Chef Gemignani is a 13-time world pizza champion, with several restaurants being recognized for having some of the best pizza in the nation and world. He also has won gold medals on Food Network twice and holds five, according to his Instagram biography.

The new restaurant will serve his award-winning pizza across an expansive menu with New York, Sicilian, Grandma and Detroit style pizzas.

The menu also includes pasta, wings and salads, alongside a drink menu with alcoholic and non-alcoholic options. There will also be gluten-free, vegan and vegetarian options.

Plus, one menu item will be exclusive to the Loveland restaurant. Slice House has a tradition of creating a unique flavor to debut with the opening of each restaurant. The “Colorado Kid,” uses alfredo sauce and mozzarella and Romano cheese topped with applewood smoked bacon, sliced buffalo sausage, green and fried onions, oregano and garlic oil.

Chef Gemignani partnered with local franchise owner Michael Tingus and business partner Dean Crescenzi to make the exclusive pizza.

“Tony has international acclaim, and such a strong following and fan base across the country, and we are excited to bring his world-famous pizza, diverse menu, and warm hospitality to our community, Crescenzi said in a press release.

Slice House first opened in San Francisco in 2010 and the new spot in Loveland will be the franchise’s 25th location.

Described as a “fast casual” setting, the restaurant will be open seven days a week and can seat 22 people inside and 50 on the outdoor patio, while offering options for takeout, online ordering and delivery.

The restaurant opens on Saturday morning, with festivities beginning at 11 a.m. The restaurant said Chef Gemignani will make an appearance, the first 50 customers will get a free hat and there will be a raffle for a chance to win free pizza for a year.
