DENVER (KDVR) — The world is full of beautiful places to travel and stay, but according to Conde Nast Traveler readers, Coloradans don’t even have to leave the state to enjoy a stay at some of the best hotels in the world.
The travel magazine recently released its 2025 readers’ choice awards for the 50 Best Hotels in the World.
With over 750,000 votes, readers highlighted the best places to stay during travels around the globe, featuring locations in Italy, France, Kazakhstan, Turkey, Morocco, Singapore, Switzerland, South Africa, Canada, Mexico and more.
In the U.S., only 14 states had hotels that made the cut. Some states had several spots make the list, like California, Tennessee, Illinois and Massachusetts.
The Centennial State is home to two of the world’s best hotels: the Limelight Hotel in Aspen and the Art Hotel in Denver.
39. Limelight Hotel Aspen — Colorado
The magazine noted that Aspen is home to multiple exceptional hotels, but the Limelight Hotel stood out as the best.
“From Hotel Jerome to the Little Nell, the coterie of Aspen hotels is a refined bunch, and Limelight Aspen brings an undeniably youthful flair to the mix with details familiar to followers of the brand: flannel bed runners, bold accent furniture, and buzzy rooftop terraces with the type of scenery panoramic photos were invented to capture,” the magazine article states.
Conde Nast described the hotel’s location in Aspen as like the center of a snow globe in the winter. Limelight Hotel offers easy access to ski areas and the Silver Queen Gondola, as well as other entertainment opportunities outside of snow, like fishing, scenic viewing and more.
31. The Art Hotel Denver, Curio Collection by Hilton
The Art Hotel Denver is no stranger to the readers’ choice awards, having won the honor every year since 2017.
“We are thrilled to be awarded the #1 Best Hotel in Colorado in this year’s Condé Nast Traveler Readers’ Choice Awards, as it is the ultimate honor to mark our 10th anniversary,” said General Manager Dorian Franklyn Phillips in a press release. “This prestigious recognition is a testament to our dedicated team and the unique and personalized artistic offerings and experiences we’ve been curating for our guests over the past decade.”
The boutique hotel was recognized for its minimalist, artful design and actual artwork featured throughout the hotel. The publication also named The Art Hotel as the best in Colorado.
