A shooting in Miami on Friday night left one man dead and another injured, police said.
According to Miami Police, officers received a ShotSpotter alert in the area of Northwest 16th Avenue and 47th Street.
Once officers arrived at the scene, they found an unoccupied vehicle that had apparent gunshots.
As the investigation continued, the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office told Miami Police that two men arrived at Jackson Memorial Hospital suffering from gunshot wounds.
One of the men died at the hospital, while the other one was grazed by a bullet, was treated and released.
The identities of the men have not been released.
NBC6 spoke to a teenager who said they heard gunshots.
“I’m thinking it’s fireworks, but it was like too much to be like fireworks, and it was like too fast and too loud, and then after that, I just heard screaming,” the teenager said. “I looked outside, people started running, that’s all I saw.”
Neighbors said this wasn’t the first time a shooting had happened in their area.
No arrests have been made as the investigation remains active.
